The October readings

I know that putting up a list of what I read in October is cheating a bit, but I don't care. It still counts as a post!

The best book definitely has to be the first one, 'Almost French'. Sarah writes about meeting a Frenchman and deciding to go to Paris to see whether the relationship is going to progress or not and the struggles she has with learning the language and living in Paris. Very well written and it made me want to move to Paris, even with all the trials and tribulations she went through. I went back to the library to see if there were any other books about living in France, particularly Paris, but nothing came up to the same standard for me.

Worst book was 'The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic'. Chic lit at its most predictable. Felt as though the author was trying to copy 'Bridget Jones' Diary'. Very light and boring.

I only heard on Sunday about Terry Pratchett having been diagnosed with a rare form of Alzheimers. Very, very sad. I cannot imagine what it must be like to be diagnosed with this disease. My thoughts and best wishes go out to him and his family.
